For many years I waited to take these photographs, framing them in my mind's eye, hearing the muffled "click" of the camera in my brain.

In early 2008, many pieces came together allowing me to finally pick up my camera and begin to capture the beauty of my adopted home, Savannah, Ga., and the surrounding Lowcountry.

During my trips through the age-old southern gems of Savannah, and Beaufort, as I wander away from the crowded squares and sites, I am surprised at every turn by the charming nooks and crannies of quiet streets and lanes. And how can you ignore documenting the funky, slow pulse of Tybee Island? These photographs reflect my fascination with all their varied beauty.

I have been inspired to create a new type of art; rich and vibrant photo encaustic panels - digital images lovingly layered with clear beeswax and oil tints - made to last for generations; and photo-collage note cards, which allow me to further pursue my love of torn paper assemblage. Both kinds of work can be seen on this website.
